Dilute 1 cup of dishwashing liquid with 2 cups of warm water. This will create a warm soapy liquid that can easily be used with a sponge on the wood surface.
It will not damage the wood surface. The soap will cut through the accumulated grease and grime.
Use a nonabrasive sponge or wipe when applying the solution to the cabinets.
Vinegar or Baking Soda
Using straight vinegar on a sponge to wipe the cabinets clean also clears away excess buildup.
Vinegar will not harm wood surfaces, and is a safe (and chemical-free) way of cleaning a lot of everyday household places. For really tough buildups, a paste of baking soda and warm water can also be used.
Add 1 tbsp. of baking soda to 2 tbsps. of warm water and mix well. Use the mix with a nonabrasive wipe or brush to remove the buildup from the cabinets. Baking soda is also a safe (and chemical-free) way of cleaning wood and other surfaces in the home
